Starving Artist

“Bedroom in Arles” by Vincent Van Gogh

A landlord demanded several months back rent from a starving artist.

“Just think,” the artist pleaded, “someday tourists will be pointing at this building and saying, ‘The great abstract painter Peter Popochinski used to live here.’ “

The landlord shrugged, “And if you don’t pay up, they can come by tomorrow and say that.”
