Dear Campbell Soup Company

I am a vegetarian.  Not only are some of my best friends pigs, but I have an allergy to meat, fish, fowl, and hard work.

I do not buy your Vegetable Beef Soup because it has beef broth.  Chicken broth prevents me from buying your Chicken Soup.  Because of the social circles that they move in, my pig friends think it wonderful that I do not buy beef and chicken soup.

I bought a can of your vegetable soup.  I was about to open it when Irving, my amoeba spirit guide, appeared before me and said, “Wait.  Check the ingredients.”

Campbell’s Vegetable Soup ingredients:

BEEF BROTH (WATER, BEEF STOCK), CARROTS, POTATOES, TOMATO PASTE, PEAS, PASTA (WHEAT FLOUR, EGG WHITE), SUGAR, CORN, POTATO STARCH, GREEN BEANS, BARLEY, SALT, CELERY, CANOLA OR SOYBEAN OIL, MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE, CABBAGE, DEHYDRATED ONIONS, YEAST EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED PROTEIN (SOY, CORN, WHEAT), FLAVOUR, SPICES, CARAMEL

Yikes!  Why would your vegetable soup contain beef broth and egg white?  Would it not make sense to have vegetable soup contain a vegetable broth?  Why call it Vegetable Soup if it has some form of meat in it?  Curious vegetarian minds would love to know.
