Fasting and Unsolicited Advice

I am on Day 19 of a water fast.  Does anyone have any advice?  Does anyone feel the need to lecture me about how I need to eat because my body needs food?

If my fast comes up in conversation, then comes the UNSOLICITED advice.  “Make sure you’re doing this, and you should be doing blah blah blah blah . . . “

These people must think, “Gary went on a lengthy without knowing what he was doing.  I must advise him to ensure he is doing things right.”

Every piece of advice people gave me, I was already doing.  This is not the first time I have fasted.  It is the first time I have gone this long with no end in sight.

I suppose it is payback time because I gave out unsolicited advice.  I am a recovering control freak getting a taste of his own medicine.

And then there are the dunderheads who immediately launch into a lecture about how I am harming myself because the body needs food.

Fasting has been around 500 years before Christ and 2000 years after Christ.  That is 2500 years.  Do you think if fasting were harmful, someone would have said something in 2500 years?

So when will I end this fast?  I don’t know.  My body will tell me.  It was my body that told me to start the fast.  I trust that my body knows what to do.

My trust in my body scares the hell out of people who always go to outside authority.  But my body is tied to Mother Nature’s Wisdom.

They do not teach Mother Nature’s Wisdom in medical school.  They teach drugs and more drugs and still more drugs.  They do not teach how to keep patients healthy.  They teach how to make people sick through drugs.  Big Pharma profits from sick people.

In previous fasts, I would get many hunger cravings and think about what to eat once I ended the fast.  With this fast, I have had very few hunger cravings and no thoughts of what to eat once I end the fast.

Before fasting, I would tire of thinking about what to eat and how to prepare it.  Every day, every day, every day, “What am I going to eat, and how will I prepare it?”

Fasting has made preparing meals very simple.

* Some doctors are good with their patients, but I never encountered any.  All the doctors I have dealt with were arrogant assholes.  Calling them quacks is striking back.
There’s an old joke:
“What is the difference between God and doctors?”

“What?”
“God doesn’t think he’s a doctor.”
